Jason (Jay) Kehrer’s path to real estate is rooted in more than two decades of construction experience and a life shaped by service, family, and hard work. His real estate story begins in 2015, when he joined his father to form what would eventually become The Kehrer Team. Bringing 20+ years of construction expertise with him, Jay has always approached real estate with a deeper understanding of how properties are built and how clients deserve to be treated.
Jay transitioned into real estate after his wife, M.Sgt. Carey Kehrer, retired from the Air Force and their family returned property to Illinois. Having moved several times due to military orders, Jay knows firsthand the challenges military families face when relocating. That experience has shaped his approach with clients, offering not just professional guidance but genuine empathy and support throughout the process.
While his father’s early success, including a “Rookie of the Year” award in 2004, helped lay the groundwork, Jay has continued building on that legacy with his own perspective, work ethic, and dedication. His background in construction allows him to see properties differently, helping clients navigate decisions with clarity and confidence.
